The Persuaders were founded in Halifax, NS in the spring of 1989. Hard work and a deep affection for their craft has made them one of the most popular bands in Metro and celebrated their 20th anniversary with the release of their single “Sheba” and a show at ‘The Shore Club’ April 25th 2009.

In 1998, the band released ‘The Persuaders – Live At The Shore Club’. It was an instant success, selling out immediately. This prompted them to embark on a full-length studio project. In May 2001, they appeared on ‘Halifax Plugged In II’ a compilation CD of ten recording Halifax bands produced by 2003 ECMA nominated Denmark Productions. In 2004, the band released their first full-length studio album ‘The Persuaders’, debuting at number nine on the local top ten.
